The prototype tube PCR5 is a round HPD with 5" diameter at the base. Its body is made of ceramic (Al2O3)rings, sandwiched with Niobium electrodes. The entrance window is flat and made of Sapphire, brazed to the body by means of a thin Nb skirt.
All drawings were made by Andre Braem (Autocad). The assembly and vacuum brazing technique is under the responsibility of Serge Mathot (EST).
