Divisional Silicon Facility - Bond Lab

Organization of the Bond Lab

Background

During the coming years the resources of the bond lab are focused on prototypes, series production and repairs for the LHC experiments. On average 90% of our basic throughput (2 machines, 2 operators, normal working hours) are reserved for this. The remaining 10% are available for non-LHC activities (fix target program, electronics development, R&D activities, etc.). A recently acquired 3rd machine (currently operated only half time) gives us more flexibility to deal with very urgent jobs.

How to get your work done ?

For small jobs not exceeding 4 hours, contact directly Ian McGill or Francoise Cossey Puget in the bond lab (75723). Ian is in charge of the daily operation, maintenance and scheduling of the lab's activities.

For larger jobs contact Michael Moll (72495, 164756) for a discussion and scheduling of your work.

In any case: fill this work request form, print it and bring it to the bond lab (MS Word / PDF)

In view of the LHC tracker construction we expect a high work load and the demands sometimes to exceed the resources. A realistic planning is essential both for us and the clients. Inform us about your planned bond work as soon as possible and keep us up-to-date in case of delays.
