Dear Michael:

BNL is expressing interest in joining the new CERN collaboration for
radiation hard Si detectors for LHC Upgrade. 

At BNL, we have the following capabilities:

1.	Detector development, design, and processing.
2.	TCT/TChT and defect analysis systems
3.	Electrical analysis systems (IV, CV, etc.).

We would like to join the following activities in the new collaboration:

1.	Defect/impurity engineering
2.	Detector structure engineering
3.	Detector operational mode engineering

At this point, only Zheng Li will join for BNL. But in the future should
the man power problem improves, others may also join.

Thank you for your effort in organizing the activities thus far. We hope
BNL can contribute significantly to the success of the new
collaboration.
