From: Lennart Lindström [Lennart.Lindstrom@ftf.lth.se] Sent: Tuesday, 11 December, 2001 17:32 To: Michael.Moll@cern.ch Subject: Proposal Dear Colleagues, Since we for a long time have been working on defects in silicon caused by irradiation (MeV electrons, protons, neutrons, gamma) your proposal to the LHCC is interesting for us to join. Name of the institution and contact person: Department of Solid State Physics, University of Lund, Sweden, Lennart Lindstrom Names of group members and fraction of their time devoted to this activity: Leonid Murin (20%), Mats Kleverman (10%) and Lennart Lindstrom (15%) Current activities: Exploring oxygen and carbon related defects in silicon using IR-spectroscopy. Especially formation of oxygen dimers and trimers and their roles in defect reactions during electron irradiation and heat treatments. Field of interest within this collaboration: Defect analysis using spectroscopy on the special qualities of silicon used for detectors. Available resources: Spectrometers (Bruker,Bomem),irradiation by 3-7 MeV electrons and a Co60 source. Good luck! Lennart
