From: Dario Bisello [dario.bisello@pd.infn.it] Sent: Friday, 08 February, 2002 17:35 To: Michael Moll Subject: Re: New R&D collaboration Dear Michael sorry for the delay in answering. Padova (Dipartimento di Fisica and INFN, Sezione di Padova) is willing to partecipate to the new R&D proposal. Members are: Andrea Candelori (20%), Alexei Litovchenko (30%), Riccardo Rando (30%) and myself (contactperson, 20%) The main activity of the group is the CMS experiment (silicon microstrip tracker). Available resources: - clean room with capability of detector mounting and microbonding; - complete equipment for electrical characterization; - laser pulser; - oven; - simulation tools (SPICE, ISE-TCAD); - X-ray gun; - irradiation line with protons (up to 28 MeV) and heavy ions. Interest: We intend to perform device characterization before and after irradiation. Therefore we have a clear interest in BASIC STUDIES (MACROSCOPIC and SURFACE DAMAGE). We plan to start in investigating NEW MATERIALS and NEW DETECTOR STRUCTURE and DESIGN. ciao dario -- prof.
